Saipan World Resort Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SWR”) deems privacy protection of its members a critical issue. As such, it remains fully committed at all times in ensuring the privacy of personal information provided by its users in order to gain access to services available at SWR (hereinafter referred to as “services”).

Collection method for personal information

SWR collects personal information via documents/forms bearing the signature of a customer, the official website managed by SWR, personal ID confirmation via the phone/fax/e-mail, etc.

Retention period for collected personal information

  1. 1. SWR reserves the right to retain a user’s personal information for the purpose of providing various online services on the official SWR website, while said user continues to use the online services available at SWR. However, if a user personally deletes or modifies his/her information, or SWR fulfills the purpose for the collected information, or if the user wishes to terminate his/her membership, SWR shall irrecoverably delete all relevant personal information items of said user, and render the information impossible for future reference or utilization.
  2. 2. However, if certain information items must be retained even after SWR fulfills the purpose of collecting said information items to comply with relevant laws and regulations such as the Commercial Act, SWR can retain said personal information - to the minimum extent possible - with prior consent from the relevant user.
    • - Records pertaining to contracts or the cancellation of applications: 5 years
    • - Records pertaining to payment and the supply of goods, etc.: 5 years
    • - Records pertaining to customer complaints or conflict resolutions: 3 years
    • - Records pertaining to disclosures, advertisements: 6 months
    • * The above-stated retention periods are stipulated Article 6 Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.

- Notification pertaining to the consignment of personal information

SWR provides the following personal information items to third party specialized vendors in order to deliver better quality services, improve customer convenience, and facilitate more efficient business operations at the company.

  • - Providing Entity: Hanwha Hotels & Resorts
  • - Scope: Outsourcing of system operations to deliver services --> personal information of members
  • - Retention: Until a member cancels his/her membership, or the outsourcing agreement expires
  • - Providing Entity: Hanwha Systems
  • - Scope: Outsourcing of system operations to deliver services --> personal information of members
  • - Retention: Until a member cancels his/her membership, or the outsourcing agreement expires

- Disposal protocol and method for personal information

SWR disposes the personal information it collects in compliance with its policies on retention periods and utilization periods once it attains the purpose of collecting the personal information. The disposal procedure is as follows.

  1. 1. Disposal procedure
    Once SWR attains the purpose of collecting personal information from its guests, it retains the information for a certain period of time in compliance with its internal policies and relevant laws/regulations on the grounds of information protection (please refer to the retention period) before disposing the information.
  2. 2. Disposal method
    Information provided in written forms shall be destroyed using a shredder, incinerator, or chemicals. Meanwhile, information in electronic format shall be destroyed using a technical method whereby the stored information is irrecoverably disposed.

- Rights of the user and his/her legal representative, and the exercising of user rights

사이판월드리조트는 수집한 개인정보의 보관기간 및 이용기간에 따라 해당 정보를 파기합니다. 파기절차 및 방법은 다음과 같습니다.

  1. 1. Access and modification of personal information may be restricted in the following cases:
    • - If accessing/modifying the information presents the risk of causing significant loss or harm to the life, body, property, or rights of the member himself/herself or a third party
    • - If accessing/modifying the information presents the risk of severely inhibiting the ability of the service vendors using the personal information to render its services
    • - If accessing/modifying the information violates the law, etc.

- Details pertaining to the installation, operation of automatic personal information collection mechanisms, and the refusal to allow such mechanisms to collect personal information

SWR uses cookies, which helps it save and search for information on each particular member on an as-needed basis. A cookie is a small text file a server, which is used in order to operate and manage the official SWR website, transmits to each member’s browser. Once the member’s browser receives the file, it saves the file onto the computer’s hard disk drive. SWR uses cookies for the following purposes:

A. Purpose of utilizing cookies

SWR uses cookies to analyze the how often or how long members and non-members access its website, and understand the preferences and interests of users to use the results as a foundation in executing targeting market strategies and improving the services it renders. SWR also uses cookies to identify the number of members participating in various events offered by Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and compute how often members visit the website to offer members a chance to participate in events tailored to their interests and preferences. Finally, SWR uses cookies to provide information curated based on the interests of each member. Each member reserves the right to refuse the installation of cookies. Members can configure their web browser settings to allow all cookies, to ask permission each time the browser tries to save cookies onto the computer, or refuse cookies altogether. However, the refusal to use cookies may limit the member’s access to certain SWR services.

B. Installation/management and refusal of cookies

  1. 1. Each user reserves the right to refuse the installation of cookies. Users can configure their web browser settings to allow all cookies, to ask permission each time the browser tries to save cookies onto the computer, or refuse cookies altogether.
  2. 2. However, the refusal to use cookies may limit the user’s access to certain services from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts that require the user to log in.
  3. 3. How to allow cookies (Internet Explorer)
    • ① Go to the [Tools] menu, then click [Internet Options].
    • ② Click the [Personal Information] tab.
    • ③ Set the [Level of Privacy Protection] to the desired level.
